The first of a trilogy of Tintin movies will start shooting in September
Andy Serkis, the voice of Gollum in The Lord of the Rings films, will play Captain Haddock.
Eighteen-year-old Thomas Sangster has been cast as Tintin. Thomas is probably still best known for playing Liam Neeson‘s son in Love Actually.
Stop-motion filming on the first of three Tintin movies will take place in Los Angeles but nobody knows if Peter Jackson wants to stamp a darker tone on the movies.
The current plan is for Steven Spielberg to direct the first movie, Peter Jackson the second,
and then the pair of them will join up to co-direct the third.
Having experienced how Peter worked on the Lord of the Rings trilogy and King Kong, Andy doesn‘t think the director will be feeling any pressure about tackling another trio of films.
Stephen Moffat wrote the first screenplay, but is no longer involved in the project now that he has recently taken over as the new supremo of the BBC television series, Doctor Who.
DreamWorks haven‘t announced which adventure will feature in the first movie.
